Thank you to our entire team for rocking another school year, supporting our families, and bringing your best every day to the team. We hope everyone prioritizes some time for rest and relaxation this summer!
Name: Personality Quiz
Targets: Ideation, visual-motor integration skills (visual scanning, ocular motor control, visual memory, and visual-spatial skills), fine motor skills, and postural control
Materials/equipment needed: Clinician’s laptop or tablet, pencil, paper, tabletop setup (sturdy desk and chair), slant board (optional)
Activity:
- Setup: Client/child sits upright at tabletop with feet flat on the floor and back straight. There should be enough space for a sheet of paper and the clinician’s laptop in front of the child.
- Steps:
- Select a fun personality quiz online with the child, typically yielding a character, animal, or otherwise fun response of some kind.
- Examples: National Geographic Kids Personality Quizzes, Play Nintendo Personality Quizzes
- You can also Google any topic of choice, such as a favorite TV show, movie, etc. and just add “personality quiz” to the search criteria
- Complete the personality quiz with the child, ensuring the personality quiz is age-appropriate (e.g., language, content, etc.)
- Instruct the child to write 1 paragraph (5 sentences, minimum 7 words per sentence) about their answer/response/character upon completion of the quiz. Do they agree with their results? Why or why not?
- Select a fun personality quiz online with the child, typically yielding a character, animal, or otherwise fun response of some kind.
Accommodations
- Highlighted or lined paper to increase visual awareness and attention
- Raised line paper to bring tactile awareness for when a child accidentally strays out of the lines
- Slantboard to promote optimal wrist positioning, upper body posture; decreases slouching and eye strain
- Pencil grip such as the claw grip to promote a functional dynamic tripod grasp
Modifications:
- Decrease amount of work output; 2-3 sentences rather than a whole paragraph.
- Decrease required number of words per sentence.
- Clinician provides a pre-written or pre-typed paragraph for the child to copy in order to decrease demand on ideation.
- Clinician reads each question and series of answers to the child during completion of the personality quiz rather than having the child read.

- Instead of sending a SOAP note, consider sending home 2–3 simple activities or strategies for families to focus on during the break.
- Choose activities that naturally fit into summer routines and support the child’s current goals.
- Remind families that consistency with everyday practice is often more valuable than structured therapy activities.
- Encourage families to reach out for a parent consultation if new challenges arise, they have questions, or they’d like to provide updates before returning to their fall schedule.
- A reminder that therapists are responsible for washing and putting away their own personal dishes, cups, and utensils by the end of the day. With a busy clinic schedule, shared spaces can become cluttered quickly, and everyone’s follow-through helps keep the environment clean and functional for the whole team. Thank you for your attention to this!
